Usando um script autônomo

Você pode usar o pnpm mesmo que você não tenha o Node.js instalando, usando os seguintes scripts.

No Windows

Usando o PowerShell:

iwr https://get.pnpm.io/install.ps1 -useb | iex

Nos sistemas POSIX

curl -fsSL https://get.pnpm.io/install.sh | sh -

Se vocẽ não tiver o curl instalado, você pode usar o wget:

wget -qO- https://get.pnpm.io/install.sh | sh -

No Alpine Linux

# bash

Pré-requisitos

Se você não usar o modo via script para instalar o pnpm, precisará ter o Node.js (pelo menos v14) para ser instalado em seu sistema.

Instalando uma versão específica

Antes de rodar o script de instalação, você pode, opcionalmente, especificar uma variável de ambiente (. env) PNPM_VERSION para instalar uma versão específica do pnpm:

curl -fsSL https://get.pnpm.io/install.sh | env PNPM_VERSION=<version> sh -

Então, você pode utilizar o comando pnpm env para instalar Node.js.

Usando Corepack

Desde a versão v16.13, Node.js inclui o Corepack para controlar a instalação de gerenciadores de pacotes. Esta é uma ferramenta experimental, então você precisa habilitá-la com o seguinte comando:

corepack enable

If you installed Node.js using Homebrew, you'll need to install corepack separately:

brew install corepack

Isso irá instalar automaticamente o pnpm em seu sistema. However, it probably won't be the latest version of pnpm. To upgrade it, check what is the latest pnpm version and run:

corepack prepare pnpm@<version> --activate

With Node.js v16.17 or newer, you may install the latest version of pnpm by just specifying the tag:

corepack prepare pnpm@latest --activate

Usando npm

npm install -g pnpm

Usando Homebrew

If you have the package manager installed, you can install pnpm using the following command:

brew install pnpm

Usando o Scoop

If you have Scoop installed, you can install pnpm using the following command:

scoop install nodejs-lts pnpm

Troubleshooting

If pnpm is broken and you cannot fix it by reinstalling, you might need to remove it manually from the PATH.

Let's assume you have the following error when running pnpm install:

First, try to find the location of pnpm by running: which pnpm. If you're on Windows, run this command in Git Bash. You'll get the location of the pnpm command, for instance:

$ which pnpm
/c/Program Files/nodejs/pnpm

Now that you know where the pnpm CLI is, open that directory and remove any pnpm-related files (pnpm.cmd, pnpx.cmd, pnpm, etc). Once done, install pnpm again and it should work as expected.

Using a shorter alias

pnpm might be hard to type, so you may use a shorter alias like pn instead.

Como adicionar um alias permanente em sistemas POSIX

Basta colocar a seguinte linha no seu .bashrc, .zshrc, ou config.fish:

alias pn=pnpm

Adicionando um alias permanente no Powershell (Windows):

Em uma janela do Powershell com direitos de administrador, execute:

notepad $profile.AllUsersAllHosts

No arquivo profile.ps1 que abrir, coloque:

set-alias -name pn -value pnpm

Salve o arquivo e feche a janela. Pode ser necessário fechar qualquer janela aberta do Powershell para que o alias comece a funcionar.
